"Color-related" HSL blending modes manipulate the hue, saturation, and luminosity of an image by separating these components. HSL refers to HSL color modelHSL color modelA color model based on Hue, Saturation, and Lightness dimensions. Similar to HSB/HSV but with “lightness” dimension instead of “brightness/value” and with differently defined “saturation”.
Unlike the HSB/HSV, in HSL,100% Luminance always yields pure white for any Saturation and Hue..
These blending modes are mainly used for color correction, artistic effects, and stylization. They allow for precise control over hue, saturation, and brightness without affecting other aspects of the image.
Hue mode
HSL
Hue
Preserves the HSL Luminosity and Saturation of underlying colors, while changing only the Hue based on the blended color. Maintains the tones and saturation of the underlying layer.

Saturation mode
HSL
Saturation
Preserves the HSL Hue and Lightness of the underlying colors while changing only the Saturation based on the blended color. Except for neutral grays, this mode yields somehow unexpected results.

Color mode
HSL
Color
Preserves the HSL Luminosity of the underlying colors while changing Hue and Saturation based on the blended color.
The most intuitive of all the 'color' blending modes; ideal for coloring monochromatic images.
Also useful as a blending mode for special-effect brushes.

Luminosity mode

Luminosity
Preserves the HSL Hue and Saturation of the underlying colors while changing Luminosity based on the blended colors.
